Today’s
meeting was held on the phone. This
meeting was to review plans for the potential upcoming Fall conference.
Review of Minutes
Minutes were reviewed and approved via email previously.
Fall Conference Strategy and Planning
Helen wrote Dave Roberts, Advocacy Board, to
solicit help in developing a program for our Fall event. We also wanted Dave to
invite potential speakers such as Dr Brailer, et al. We are awaiting his
feedback- if we cannot secure speakers for October, possibly we can book them
for our winter schedule program.
Mike Leidlein and Gary Strelecki will attempt
to contact some western Michigan CIOs to solicit their help in promoting HIMSS
events and selecting appropriate topics that will assure greater participation.
One task for all of us to do in preparation
for next Tuesday's call is to think of ways we can better promote our events
early in the process. Ideas include
press releases, soliciting dormant members, posters at the hospitals,
promotional ideas, etc.
ACTION ITEM:
Please bring your ideas to the next call on how we can better publicize
the organization and it's programs.

Ron will contact Rick and Satish and have them update us on membership
activities.
ACTION ITEM:
Ken will call Helen with year-end financial statements.
Ron called the Boyne contact for an invoice.
A
brief discussion on next years summer event and the possibility of hosting it
on the western side of the state - more discussion there to follow.
Ron contacted HISA about joining an upcoming
conference call to start planning the Winter event.
We will meet again next Tuesday and then
every two weeks after that since yesterday's call was a non-scheduled call.

Meetings
Phone-in meetings will be held every Tuesday between now and the Summer Conference.
We will switch to our regular bi-monthly meetings after the Summer Conference. To offset conflicts in some schedules, we are proposing the meetings be:
Tuesday, August 10
Tuesday, August 24
Tuesday, September 7
Etc.
