Welcome to the Michigan Chapter of HIMSS.
The Michigan Chapter of HIMSS (MI-HIMSS) is dedicated to improving information systems management in Michigan's health care institutions. MI-HIMSS was formed in the Spring of 2002.
Chapter members come from diverse backgrounds, all involved in some aspect of health care information systems and management. Our members consist of professionals from hospitals and clinical organizations, third-party payers, administrators, information technology systems vendors, consultants, management engineers, telecommunications professionals, physicians, nurse and medical informatics professionals, and essentially anyone interested in the trends of health care information and management systems. MICHIGAN HIMSS CHAPTER RECEPTION AT HIMSS12
The HIMSS12 Annual Conference & Exhibition is being held from February 20 to 24, 2012 at the Venetian Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas! The Michigan HIMSS Chapter will be hosting a chapter reception on Tuesday the 21st from 6:00 – 7:30pm at the Venetian Sands Convention Center, Room Bellini 2001A.
There is no charge to attend this event, but we ask that you register so that we can plan accordingly.

SLIDES FOR ANSI 5010 WEBINAR NOW AVAILABLE
The Michigan HIMSS Chapter recently joined with The Michigan Center for Rural Health and The Michigan Primary Care Association to present a webinar about the changes needed throughout the organization to address the conversion to ANSI 5010. Our speaker was Ron Sterling, who earned the 2008 HIMSS Book of the Year Award for his publication Keys to EMR Success.
